Our View: New Year, New Era

CEO, Enterprise Greece

Greece is poised to enter a new era this year. In 2024, the Greek economy – one of the fastest growing in Europe – will return to the level it reached at the onset of the global financial crisis.
More than a decade of far reaching and ongoing reforms is leading the Greek economy to new heights on the back of double digit investment growth – projected at 15% this year – record exports and newly regained investment grade status.
Real GDP is expected to reach €234 billion this year, its highest level since 2010. Greek unemployment is once again at pre-crisis levels, and Greek property prices are close to where they were a decade and-a-half ago. For the second year running, Greece has been named the top performing country among the world’s 35 leading economies by The Economist.
The ongoing reform program is helping transform Greece. Now begins a new era with bright prospects ahead.
