Our View: Dynamic Greece

CEO, Enterprise Greece

Greece has been recognized once more as one of the top performing economies in the world for the fourth consecutive year. That recognition, in an extremely uncertain and fluid international economic environment, is thanks to the government’s ongoing efforts to reform and transform Greece’s productive model.
The Economist ranking, which rates the performance of the world’s 36 most important economies across five key areas – growth rate, core inflation, breadth of inflation, unemployment reduction and stock market performance – show that Greece continues to outperform. In particular, it notes the contributions of investment and tourism to economic growth.
Indeed, the latest GDP data released this month – as well as Greece’s growth projections for next year – show that the country continues to outperform the rest of the eurozone. This confirms that Greece continues to have one of the most resilient and dynamic economies in the world.
