Greek fashion exporters raise presence, profile in international exhibitions

From fashion accessories to clothing, from jewelry to footwear, Greek fashion exporters are raising their presence and prominence in international circles at a moment when Greece is becoming increasingly trendy.

Just in the last several weeks, record numbers of Greek designers and fashion producers are showcasing Greek chic at events stretching from New York to Paris to Milan, as they seek to establish Greek quality and design on the world stage. At this month’s WHO’S NEXT & BIJORHCA PARIS 2026, 53 Greek companies from the fashion sector participated in the international trade show, one of the most significant Greek participations ever.

Among 1,300 exhibitors, the Greek participation ranked 6th among countries with the highest number of participants in the apparel sector (WHO’S NEXT) and 4th in the jewelry sector (BIJORHCA). More than 2,200 B2B meetings took place at the Greek pavilions, creating new opportunities for international collaborations, commercial agreements, and further growth of Greek brands.

Greek exhibitors also showed a strong presence at this month’s 102nd MICAM Milano footwear exhibition, which brings together more than 1,000 companies and more than 42,000 trade visitors from around the world. And in the U.S., Greek designers were well represented at the COTERIE – MAGIC New York fashion show in early September.

Greek fashion is making its mark on the world stage and gradually climbing the value chain just as the world is rediscovering Greece. In the last few years, things Greek – from the Mediterranean Cuisine to Homer’s Odyssey – have come into vogue. This month, leading UK lifestyle magazine Time Out named the Athens neighborhood of Neos Kosmos as the coolest neighborhood in Europe.

For the country’s designers and fashion producers, Greece’s new vibe couldn’t come at a better time. Over the last few years, the country’s apparel producers have combined creative talent, traditional craftsmanship and manufacturing competitiveness to emerge as a significant export sector worth almost €800 million a year, according to data.
