Ahead of the grand finale of Expo 2020 Dubai, Greece celebrated is National Day at the world’s leading expo this month, underscoring the country’s growth and economic prospects in a global setting.
With the slogan: Greece Tomorrow, Today, the Greek Pavilion highlighted eight pillars supporting the country’s future development: energy, the agri-food industry, shipping, tourism/culture, technology/innovation, human capital, industry and health. During the six month world expo, the Greek Pavilion hosted more than 650,000 visitors.
“The goal of the Greek participation at the Expo 2020 Dubai was to showcase the contemporary image of Greece, which has emerged from the crisis, promoting the competitive advantages of specific sectors that are contributing to economic development and helping promote a strong Greek brand,” said Enterprise Greece Executive Director and Member of the Board Betty Alexandropoulou. “The core of our strategy was to highlight those pillars where Greece has seen remarkable performance and represent significant levers for economic development.”
The Greek Pavilion also hosted several world leaders, including a recent visit by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, along with his daughter of Greek descent, Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
